Kathy Bates

I offer an open heart, compassion and a deep commitment to bring comfort and support to the dying and their loved ones.

During my 25 year career as a social worker and geriatric mental health specialist in skilling nursing facilities, with a focus on end – of – life care, I attended many deaths.  My daughter, who was on the brink of death several times but ultimately “graduated” from palliative care, has also prepared me for this sacred work.  These experiences combined inspired me to become a certified Sacred End of Life Doula.

Serving as a gentle guide to the dying as they accept and work through the dying process, I can help ensure a peaceful and positive end of life.  By holding sacred space in a deeply compassionate manner that respects the dying individual’s beliefs, values and culture, my clients and their loved ones can meet death with less fear and let go peacefully.

Serving Greater Seattle and Snohomish County in Washington

TRI-CITIES

I’m Kathy Bray. Whether it’s a quick phone call, delivery of a meal or medications, or a long conversation at the bedside or sofa, it has led me here, to becoming a death doula. I became a doula once I realized how much I had already been doing this work with friends and loved ones, through my work in the medical field, within my church family, and as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Hospice. My work has been an enriching journey of conversation, assistance, emotional, physical, and spiritual support to a dying person and their family. I trained and became certified as a Doula Care Consultant by Doulagivers. If you’d like to explore how I may be helpful as a death doula, please contact me for a 30-minute virtual or telephone conversation. I practice in Tri Cities, WA and virtually. https://whilewerestillhere.com or call 509-619-0771.
