Death Doulas

My name is Michele Stutzman and I was an RN for 31 years and now practice independently as an End-of-Life Doula in the Lewes/Rehoboth area of Delaware.

Although I am grateful for my nursing career and the experiences that I had, I found my work less satisfying as the bureaucracy and technology in healthcare continued to progress (although I do recognize the value of technology). I can remember as a new nurse when the introduction of documentation by a computer started. I was very upset by having a computer in my lap as it was a barrier to my connection with my patients.

I very much love showing up for a client, along with their loved ones and being able to be fully present. 

I very much consider it an honor to accompany clients and their loved ones along the sacred passage of end of life. I am very passionate about being an advocate for the folks under my care.

I have also formed a Collective in my area called Liminal Shore End of Life Collection which serves as a resource for those at the end of life in Sussex County DE.

Tanya Harris offers personalized support that complements medical care and focuses on emotional and spiritual well-being. My services contribute to a more holistic approach to death, promoting a peaceful transition and reducing fear and anxiety.

I’m here to support people and their loved ones facing the end of life. Facing death can be overwhelming in many ways. My role as an end-of-life doula is to reduce your stress by helping to organize your affairs, plan your funeral and last days, and/or provide emotional support and sit vigil. You can work with me as much or as little as you need, schedules permitting. I am based in Southern Delaware for in-person services and available for video consultations nationally. I trained at the University of Vermont.
