My name is Rev. Laura Carey and I am a interfaith minister. I was ordained in 2011 through The Chaplaincy Institute of Maine. I have been hospice trained, and for the past 20 years have been a non medical caregiver. I have facilitated grief support groups and In 2015 I started my own business called Heartsong Caregiving and Ministry Services,

Kate founded The Quiet Lantern to provide compassionate, non-medical end-of-life doula support for individuals and families navigating life’s final chapter. Services include presence and companionship, legacy conversations, vigil support, and guidance through the emotional and practical aspects of end-of-life care. Her goal is to help create a calm, supportive environment so individuals and their loved ones feel less alone during this meaningful transition.

Kate is an end-of-life doula trained through the Stratford Career Institute and a member of NEDA, National End-of-Life Doula Alliance. She serves individuals and families in Central and Southern Maine.
